Winter Solstice Festival

Celebrate the upcoming Winter Solstice with a free family festival including art-making activities, cultural traditions, and live music and dancing!  

This festival is generously sponsored by The Nicholas Endowment.  



Norma Kershaw Auditorium  

12:45pm - Franklin Haynes Marionettes, the masters of puppetry, will delight all ages with "Santa's New Sleigh."  Fun for the entire family!


Margaret and Cleo Key Courtyard

11:00am - Family art-making projects

12:00pm - Gary Wis-Ki-Ge-Amatyuk will perform a traditional Native American hoop dance and give a blessing for the New Year.  

12:30pm - Steve Bellendir and friends will teach us how to dance to the music of The Ploughboys.

Ceili Rua Dancers Erin Aileen Ealy, Caitriona Weafer, Kerry Osborne, Michael Osborne, and Ted Hall lead this group of passionate Irish folk dancers who will perform throughout the afternoon.

1:30pm - The Ploughboys are a Celtic institution in Southern California. The house band of the legendary Tam O'Shanter Inn will set your toes to tapping, and your hands clapping.  


Kidseum is open and free from 10am to 4pm!  

Stop in for art and archaeology exhibits, face painting, and hands-on art projects for the whole family.

Please note:  Beginning on January 3, 2016, admission to Kidseum will be free on festival Sundays to Santa Ana residents only.
