Session I of IV: Flower & Plants Painting: Flowering Plum & Lotus Water Lily
Take one class or all four sessions in this studio art workshop series on the elegant beauty of Chinese brush painting. Jack J. Liang, award-winning professional artist; member of California Art Club and advisor to both the Chinese Arts Society of Southern California and the Chinese Calligraphy & Painting Association, will help you to enhance your understanding of Chinese art and culture with this introductory-level class covering historical and aesthetic elements of Chinese painting. Following demonstrations by Mr. Liang, you will learn and practice the basic elements of Chinese painting starting with plants and flowers. No experience necessary.
All classes will introduce and demonstrate Chinese Brush Painting equipment & materials: different kinds of brushes, shuen paper, ink, ink stone, white porcelain dish, water container, paper weight & pure wool cloth. Learning brush skills & techniques: basic strokes, value of strokes, feeling and association, shading, grouping and weaving and the applied stroke.
