“Tsars’ Cabinet” VIP Reception
Thursday, June 6 - 6- 8PM
EXCLUSIVE VIP RECEPTION AND CURATORIAL WALK THROUGH OF THE “TSARS’ CABINET: 200 YEARS OF DECORATIVE ARTS UNDER THE ROMANOVS.” This exhibition is coming to the Bowers from William and Mary College and portrays the opulent life under the Romanov’s of Russia. Join us for wine and light hors d’oeuvres and meet exhibition Curator Kathy Durdin and Bowers’ Guest Scholar Wendy Salmond of Chapman University.
Hsi Lai Temple Tour – Hacienda Heights

Hsi Lai Temple was built to serve as a spiritual and cultural center for those interested in learning more about Buddhism and the Chinese culture. This special tour of the Hsi Lai Temple will include the Bodhisattva Hall, gardens, courtyard, Main Shrine, the museum and luncheon. Hsi Lai means "coming to the West" and signifies the dedication of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Order to spread the teachings of the Buddha to those in the West. Cost is $50 per person with donation & lunch.

JOIN THE MUSEUM’S BOARD OF GOVERNORS FOR DESSERT AND COFFEE IN THE KEY COURTYARD FOLLOWING THEIR ANNUAL BOARD MEETING and Dinner. After dessert, our annual distinguished lecture will take place in the Kershaw Auditorium. We are proud to announce our speaker will be celebrated author and National Geographic Explorer in Residence, Wade Davis.
“Jewels of the Connoisseur” VIP Reception

In the Museum’s tradition of bringing fine jewels to the Bowers, we will celebrate the opening of “Jewels of the Connoisseur” with an exclusive VIP reception in the Huang Sculpture Garden where you will have the opportunity to meet the noted gemstone miners, cutters, and designers, Buzz Gray and Bernadine Johnston while enjoying wine and light hors d’oeuvres.
