Back by popular demand, the Bowers is proud to once again host Yukiko Matsuyama performing World Pop featuring the Japanese Koto. This Grammy winning musician began studying the traditional koto, the national instrument of Japan, at the age of 9. Her move to Southern California in 1993 and exposure to L.A.’s diverse cultures and rhythms has been eloquently fused into Yukiko’s music today. Just back from Japan, her band features Hirotaka Ogawa, with whom she recorded her CD Beyond the Space. This show marks the official release of the CD in theU.S. and is not to be missed! The instrumentation for the concert is koto, electric and acoustic guitar, vocals, keyboards, bass and drums.

	Performance - Karen Han ``Erhu Virtuoso`` at the Bowers Museum Karen is an internationally renowned, brilliant Erhu artist who has performed with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, The Los Angeles Philharmonic and other prestigious orchestras worldwide. Karen Han`s playing may be heard on the soundtracks of The Joy Luck Club, Passion of the Christ, Mulan II, Anna and the King, The Last Emperor and Memoirs of a Geisha. 	Voices of the Macabre at the Bowers Museum John-David Keller, professional actor & director of South Coast Repetory`s production of A Christmas Carol for over 30 years, along with fellow actors, present a series of spook-tacular readings from Edwin Gorey, Bram Stoker, Edgar Allan Poe, Stephanie Meyer, Washington Irving and more in this Eek!-tober halloween literary adventure. Laughs, shrieks and good fun avail as corny knock-knock jokes intersperse the haunting merriment!
