Paracas and Nasca: Between roughly 200 BC and AD 500, the Paracas and Nasca cultures created powerful expressions of local styles that today stand out as technical masterpieces of textile and ceramic production. Privileging naturalism and the sophisticated use of earth-toned pigments these signature art forms reveal superior knowledge and remain as recognizable and prestigious today as they were when originally intended for a sacred context.
