Tiwanaku and Wari: The Early Intermediate Period was dominated by these two interconnected empires. Both Tiwanaku and Wari fell from power at the close of the millennium, leaving a legacy of monumental cities and an unmistakable politico-religious iconographic program expressed in all artistic media.
