Book at Bowers: JFK: A Vision for America

For the upcoming exhibit American Visionary: John F. Kennedy’s Life and Times, which opens March 10, 2018, the next Book Club selection is JFK: A Vision for America edited by Stephen Kennedy Smith and Douglas Brinkley. This book was written in recognition of the hundredth anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s birth. It is a collection of President Kennedy’s greatest speeches with prominent thinkers commenting on his words’ impact and enduring relevance. The book also contains over 400 photos spanning his life. These timely topics include the role of a free press, immigration, civil rights, diplomacy, world peace and preservation of our natural resources.


JFK: A Vision for America will be discussed on Thursday, March 15 from 1 pm - 2 pm and Saturday, March 17 from 10:30 am - 11:30 am. Stephen Kennedy Smith will also conduct a public lecture from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm on March 10, 2018, opening day for the new JFK exhibit.
