Cinema Italiano: Cinema Paradiso (1988, 124 min)

Cinema Paradiso is a drama written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore. Starring Jacques Perrin, Philippe Noiret, Leopoldo Trieste, Marco Leonardi, Agnese Nano and Salvatore Cascio, it won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 62nd Academy Awards. The film follows a movie director, Salvatore, as he looks back on his life in rural Italy and remembers the man who changed it forever.

Do you love attending Cinema Italiano but don’t love the subtitles? Arrive early for basic Italian language classes led by Petra Petry, a Professor of Italian at community colleges around Southern California. Classes and screenings will take place in the Norma Kershaw Auditorium.
