Embodied Sonic Meditation Workshop with Jiayue Cecilia Wu

PURCHASE ONSITE TICKETS

Facilitated by Prof. Jiayue Cecilia Wu, Ph.D., University of Colorado, Denver, U.S.A.

This workshop includes a series of physical and mental activities that were formalized by the ancient Tibetan contemplative traditions that unify the body and mind at the present moment, using sound arts as the training vehicle. Different breathing techniques, grounding and centering techniques, and high energy inducing techniques will be introduced and practiced. A brief introduction of the Embodied Sonic Meditation concepts and how to combine this practice with art aesthetics will be presented. Following this, the facilitator will invite participants to improvise with her and transform together with our voice, music instruments, and body-mind connections. Through a mindful, cheerful, contemplative and interactive workshop, the facilitator hopes to deepen a sensibility of sonic awareness through the body, our sense of presence, and being joyfully included.

Following the workshop, participants will be invited to view Jiayue Cecilia Wu's art on display in the Grand Galleria, where the Sacred Realms exhibition is located.

Location: John M. Lee Court
