NORMA KERSHAW AUDITORIUM | LECTURE
Presented by Dr. Anna-Latifa Mourad-Cizek, Assistant Professor of Egyptian Archaeology at the University of Chicago’s Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures
This lecture examines how Egypt’s transregional connections in the Eighteenth Dynasty evolved into a period of early “globalization.” Focusing on communities in Egypt and the Levant, it explores how climate change, migration, and shifting political powers shaped cross-cultural encounters and laid the foundation for Late Bronze Age internationalism.
