Setting the tone for JFK - Timeless Melodies: The 1960s (Part 1)

Presented by Larry Maurer, historian of the Timeless Melodies Foundation for Education, Inc.

In the 60s, music had something for everyone:  Elvis went Hollywood, the kids rocked out to new dances, the Girl Groups led to Motown. Aretha Franklin and other gospel singers cross over to rock and roll while Herb Alpert injected a Latin influence. The pop standard-bearers, Sinatra, Davis, Nat King Cole continued to sell records. Broadway entertains with Fiddler on the Roof, Camelot, and Doctor Dolittle.
