Timeless Melodies: Black Artists in Popular Music

Take a nostalgic walk down memory lane with music and more presented by Larry Maurer, historian of the Timeless Melodies Foundation for Education, Inc.

Music historian Larry Maurer will trace the evolution of music from the soulful spirituals and lively ragtime piano tunes to the profound influence of blues and the groundbreaking innovations of jazz icons like Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, The Nicholas Bros, and the legendary Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. Join us for this celebration of Black History Month at Bowers Museum, where the melodies of the past come alive, echoing the vibrant contributions of black artists that have shaped the cultural landscape of American music.

Ticketed Onsite Event: Members $10 | General $15
