Join us for Day 2 of the Expo, with free General Admission to the Museum for dads on Father's Day this Sunday, June 16.
The Bowers Museum Comic Art Expo is a vibrant festival of comic artistry and pop culture. This free two-day event promises to be a dynamic gathering for comic enthusiasts, artists, and collectors alike, in celebration of our current exhibit, Asian Comics: Evolution of an Art Form. The Comic Art Expo will feature a variety of artists, live DJs, and family-friendly activities.
During the Expo, arrive in cosplay* to get FREE General Admission, and gain exclusive access to Asian Comics for just $10! Join us for a season of color, creativity, and community!
Schedule of Events for Sunday
10 am - 4pm:
- Sculpture garden: Enjoy a beverage and snack while DJs spin music. Featured DJs include:
- 10 am – 12 pm | Whipnotiq
- 12 – 2 pm | AJ Calzada
- 2 – 4 pm | John Tejada
- Dog cosplay welcome in our outdoor spaces!
- Key Courtyard: all day face painting, art activities, candy sculptures, artist open forum discussions, comic book bargain bins & treasure dive. Dog cosplay welcome in our outdoor spaces!
- Norma Kershaw Auditorium: FREE anime screenings
11 - 11:30 am:
- Key Courtyard: Filipino children’s storybook reading by Hot Tropic
2 - 2:45 pm:

About DJ John Tejada
John Tejada is a Vienna-born, Los Angeles-based electronic music composer, DJ, and professor at CalArts. Tejada’s professional output of music began in 1994 and has never let up, including five albums for the revered label Kompakt, plus releases on Pokerflat, Cocoon, Plug Research, Seventh City, Playhouse, Defected, and his own label since 1996, Palette Recordings. Tejada has also been responsible for remixing more than 100 songs for acts including Orbital, The Postal Service, Télépopmusic, The Field, Bomb the Bass, Way Out West, Kevin Saunderson, Plaid, Psychic TV, Gui Boratto, Simian Mobile Disco and many others. Current projects include Wajatta, with Reggie Watts, and Optometry, with March Adstrum.
