THURSDAY | FEBRUARY 15 | 1 – 2 PM | Norma Kershaw Auditorium | Onsite Book Discussion & Tour

For members only: A Book Club experience

February's Book Club pick is There There by Tommy Orange, a Native author from the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. A 2019 Pulitzer Prize finalist and one of the 10 Best Books of 2018, this novel offers a compelling portrait of modern urban Native American life in Oakland, CA. Through twelve intertwined stories, Orange explores the search for identity and the deep connection to culture. Critically acclaimed, There There is a poignant exploration of a community often unseen. Length: 294 pages.

Following the in-person discussion in the museum auditorium, a Docent led tour will highlight the First Californians exhibit.

Free for Bowers Members. RSVP on Bowers.org. Space is limited to 30 Bowers Members per discussion. A confirmation email will be sent to participants prior to the event.
